
Giorgi Abramishvili -Director, Bakhvi HPP Company
Mr. Abramishvili joined Bakhvi HPP company in 2022. He is responsible for project management and ensures the successful execution of both Bakhvi 1 and Bakhvi 2 hydroelectric power plants with a combined capacity of 46 MW. With 25 years of leadership and managerial experience in the private sector, his expertise lies primarily in energy project development and management. Under his direct supervision was constructed the Lakhami hydroelectric power plant which generates 18 megawatts of energy. Before his current role, he was the General Director of Gardabani Thermal Power Station. During his tenure in this position, he raised $220 million in investments. He created structure for the newly established company that responded to the needs of a modern and transparent enterprise and developed it as a financially attractive business. His responsibilities encompassed overseeing all technical, financial, and legal facets of operations, and communication with the government entities and contractors. For two years, Mr. Abramishvili was the General Director of the Namakhvani HPP project boasting a capacity of 450 megawatts. Under his stewardship, the project underwent optimization to enhance environmental sustainability, rendering it highly attractive to potential investors. Since 2014, he has served as the founder and Managing Partner of the company "Energy Solution," focusing on identifying and cultivating renewable energy projects. Additionally, since 2019, he has spearheaded "Trading Solution," which specializes in electricity trading across local and international markets.
Giorgi Abramishvili founded the Renewable Energy Development Association of Georgia (GREDA) and has served as the Chairman of its Supervisory Board since December 2017. GREDA brings together most of the leading developers and investors in Georgia's energy sector with the aim of enhancing the investment environment for renewable energy businesses in the country. Additionally, since 2022, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Junior Achievement of Georgia, an organization promoting awareness raising and development towards entrepreneurship and business among the youth of Georgia.
Before entering the energy sector, Mr. Abramishvili gained experience across various industries including real estate, agriculture, education, and publishing. He made notable contributions to the establishment and management of organization Dutch House, the German Corporation for International Cooperation (G.I.Z), and Siesta Publishing House.
Mr. Abramishvili is a graduate of the University of Saarland. He went on to broaden his expertise by pursuing Global Energy Management studies at the University of Colorado.
