Our aim is to protect biodiversity by applying effective mitigation measures. To achieve this, we employ globally recognized best practices in environmental protection. That's why the management team at Bakhvi HPP, taking into account the involvement of the parties and sound recommendations, collaborated with skilled local experts and reputable Western companies as part of the Bakhvi 1 and Bakhvi 2 HPP projects.
All studies conducted as part of the project rely on on the best recognized international expertise. Both local and international experts assist us at every stage of project implementation.
As a result of the biodiversity studies, the most effective mitigation measures were identified for both Georgian Red List species and those protected by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The action plan for mitigating measures concerning biodiversity is carried out in strict adherehce to Georgian legislation, and the environmental and social standards of internationally recognized financial institutions such as the IFC and EIB.
