Starting from March 2023, Bakhvi HPP is renewing its informal educational training program in the schools of Mtsipiri and Chkhakaura. This program is part of the company’s social initiative focusing on educational development. The training will continue to be delivered by Giorgi Berechikidze and Khatuna Iosava, who will provide lessons on environmental protection and renewable energy. Additionally, Keti Lobzhanidze will introduce students to career orientation, discussing professions considered to be in demand globally today, specifically in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
“It is essential for young people to be aware of the current trends in the labor market and where there are shortages in skilled personnel. This information is crucial, especially when making decisions about how to shape one's future. Clearly, everyone should aim for a profession that is in demand and offers good compensation. Timely and accurate advice can significantly impact one's life. We encourage prospective students interested in energy, engineering, or environmental protection to pursue further education in these fields. In addition to informal training, Bakhvi HPP will cover 80% of the tuition fees for students from Mtsipiri and Chkhakaura pursuing studies in these faculties. We are delighted to support their educational journey, especially given the sector's need for young professionals,” said David Koberidze, Environmental, Social, and Governance Manager at Bakhvi HPP.
The training program is a part of Bakhvi HPP’s educational social initiative, which has been active since the spring of 2021. The 2022-2023 academic year program began in September and includes both semesters. Sessions are held monthly in the public schools of Mtsipiri and Chkhakaura. The project is designed for high school students in grades 9 through 12 and aims to raise awareness about environmental protection, share knowledge about renewable energy sources, and provide information on career orientation.
