Bakhvi HPP has successfully implemented another key infrastructure initiative — the rehabilitation of the central road connecting the villages of Mshvidobauri and Ukanava, also damaged places in Vaniskedy. The roadworks commenced on 23 June and focused on repairing existing damage to ensure safe and uninterrupted vehicular access along the route.
"Bakhvi HPP not only adheres to the standards defined by Georgian legislation during the construction phase and in the management of environmental and social processes, but also applies best international practices. In line with this international experience, and in fulfillment of the promise made to the local community in late May and early June, we began the works on June 23 and completed them a few days ago. It is also important to highlight that the people employed for this work are local residents,” stated Davit Koberidze, Environmental and Social Projects Manager of Bakhvi HPP.
The rehabilitation was carried out in coordination with local residents and covered a total distance of 6.7 kilometers. The project was completed in early July 2025, significantly improving transportation conditions for the surrounding communities.
