On May 6, 2023, renowned singer Giorgi Sukhitashvili visited the schools in Mtispiri and Chokhatauri. This visit was part of Bakhvi HPP’s educational project under its social program. Sukhitashvili shared his personal experiences with the students, discussing topics such as the importance of education, career development, responsible citizenship, and paths to success. One of the main topics of discussion was the various opportunities available in the country and how young people can effectively utilize them.
The meeting with the students was conducted in a question-and-answer format, allowing them to address any questions they had. Topics covered included how to be an active and responsible citizen and the significance of these traits both for individuals and for the country.
David Koberidze, Bakhvi HPP’s Environmental and Social Issues Manager, noted: “It is crucial for young people to understand the opportunities available in the country today, the priority and relevant areas, and how to navigate the challenging path to success. This information is vital when making decisions about one's future. We are pleased that Giorgi accepted our invitation and came to meet with the youth. He shared his experiences, and the students showed interest in topics such as active and responsible citizenship. This confirms that, beyond their careers, young people are also concerned about the development of their country. Bakhvi HPP’s educational program aims to enhance awareness on environmental issues, renewable energy sources, and professional orientation.”
The training courses on environmental protection, renewable energy, and career orientation, initiated in Mtispiri in the spring of 2021, have successfully continued during the 2022–2023 academic year in both Mtispiri and Chokhatauri. The project targets high school students, specifically those in grades 9 through 12, and aims to raise awareness about environmental issues, share knowledge about renewable energy sources, and provide information on career orientation. Meetings with specially selected trainers and students are held once a month in the public schools of Mtispiri and Chokhatauri.
