For the 2023–2024 academic year, Bakhvi HPP has updated its educational project under its socially coordinated program with the local community. The revised training program will be conducted at both the Mtsipiri Public School in Ozurgeti Municipality and the Chkhakaura Public School in Chokhatauri Municipality. The training is designed for high school students, specifically those in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.
The updated program aims to: • Raise awareness among students about how to protect the environment and use natural resources wisely; • Raise awarness to waste management; • Develop skills in project writing; • Provide information on natural disasters and catastrophes, including behavior and safety measures during such events; • Increase awareness about energy safety and natural resources; • Educate about the management and utilization of hydropower plants; • Explain the essence of renewable energies and their positive role in the context of climate change; • Offer guidance on career orientation, helping students understand which professions are in demand and their choices for further education.
During the 2023–2024 academic year, 13 sessions will be held, including one field trip. The modules on environmental protection and renewable energy will be led by Giorgi Berechikidze, Head of the Forest Protection Department at the National Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, and Khatuna Iosava, a public relations expert and guest lecturer at Caucasus University since 2015.
The updated module focuses on student engagement and creating an eco-friendly environment in collaboration with them.
