As part of Bakhvi HPP's educational program, another session was held with students from the public schools of Mtispiri village in Ozurgeti Municipality and Chkhakaura village in Chokhatauri Municipality. This time, the company invited USAID's Securing Georgia’s Energy Future Program and the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA) to deliver a lecture on the benefits of energy security, economic growth, and the well-being of the Georgian people. These lectures, planned as part of an awareness-raising campaign, aim to increase knowledge about renewable energy and environmental protection among the younger generation. The targeted interventions are designed to encourage sustainable decisions and contributions to the country's energy security from the youth, helping them develop critical thinking and discover new solutions to energy problems.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity, with the help of GREDA, to introduce students from Mtispiri School to experts working in the sector. Our goal is to talk extensively about the benefits of renewable energies. It's important for the younger generation to understand the advantages of these types of energy sources. In the context of a workforce shortage, it is also crucial to show prospective students the opportunities that specialists in this field can have. When choosing a profession, one must consider the sector's demands, competition, opportunities, and current development trends in the country. This is the second time such a meeting has been held in Mtispiri, the first being around the same time last year, while GREDA representatives visited Chkhakaura for the first time. High school students learned many new things about energy as a field and career choice directly from young professionals in the industry. From our side, we are committed and have declared our willingness to support and encourage young people if they choose to link their future with energy or environmental protection," said David Koberidze, Bakhvi HPP's Environmental, Social, and Governance Manager.
