On September 25, 2023, Bakhvi HPP organized a seminar at the public school in the village of Mtispiri, Ozurgeti Municipality. The seminar featured local entrepreneur Kristine Gurielidze, who has been instrumental in starting a business in Bakhmaro. Kristine Gurielidze, the manager of the PowderProject, which offers international and local tourists the opportunity to ski in the untouched snow of Bakhmaro, has successfully managed this tourism business for four years.
The seminar was conducted in a Q&A format, where students received answers to various questions, including the challenges of starting a business in the region, ways to overcome these challenges, and the opportunities available for gaining international experience in this field. The discussion also covered topics such as tourism as a priority sector in Guria, methods to attract visitors, employment opportunities, and more.
"I left with a very positive impression. The students were highly engaged during the lecture, asked many questions about the topic, and many showed interest in adventure tourism. I did not expect such a high level of interest and engagement," stated Kristine Gurielidze, manager of the PowderProject.
The seminar was designed for senior students of Mtispiri School, specifically those in grades 8 through 12. Its goal was to raise awareness and increase motivation among young people about starting a business in the region.
Kristine Gurielidze is also a member of the Environmental and Social Issues Advisory Board of Bakhvi HPP, serving since its inception. The training and seminar project, organized by Bakhvi HPP and conducted in Mtispiri and Chkhakaura public schools, is part of the company's social program. It aims to engage Advisory Board members in the implementation of the company's social projects. This initiative reflects Bakhvi HPP's commitment to promoting tourism potential in Guria and supporting local entrepreneurship by educating and motivating the younger generation.
