On December 20, 2022, a festive New Year's event organized by Bakhvi Hydropower Plant (HPP) was held at the Anzor Erkomaishvili Folklore Center in Ozurgeti. The celebration was dedicated to children under the age of 13 from the villages of Chkhakaura, Mtispiri, Ukanava, Okroskedi, and Vaniskedi. The program featured two main acts: the first part was a New Year's concert, and the second part included interactive New Year's entertainment. Specially invited Santa Clauses, animated film characters, and children's singing and dancing studios all contributed to creating a festive atmosphere for the children. The event was executed by the Folklore Center management at the request of Bakhvi HPP.
Davit Koberidze, Manager of Environmental and Social Issues at Bakhvi HPP, expressed his delight: "In Guria, the New Year is always awaited with special anticipation. Everyone, young and old, begins preparations to bid farewell to the old year happily and welcome the new year with fresh emotions. These joyous days are particularly exciting for children, and we are thrilled to have contributed to their pre-New Year's cheer. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the management of Mtispiri and Chkhakaura public schools, as well as the Mtispiri kindergarten management and teachers. Their assistance was invaluable in bringing the children to this event. The unwavering support and dedication of the teachers in executing our initiatives for the children are commendable."
Following the New Year's concert, Santa Claus distributed sweets as gifts to the children, adding to their festive joy.
This New Year's event was part of Bakhvi HPP's broader environmental and social program, reflecting the company's ongoing commitment to community engagement and support.
