The management of CCEH Hydro VI Company implementing the Bakhvi 1 HPP Project intended on the river Bakhvistskali has continued the series of meetings with various stakeholders in Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri Municipalities for the purpose of introducing the Bakhvi 1 HPP Project.
On July 14, 2021, in Ozurgeti, at the Young Educators Union Office, members of the Climate Change Regional Action Group were introduced to the Bakhvi 1 HPP Project. The group was formed with financial support of the European Union as a part of the CENN implemented project GEO-CAP with the aim of facilitating the engagement of the civil society in the climate change policy development and implementation.
CCEH Hydro VI Director Mikheil Nibladze, Project Manager Gigla Sikharulidze, and ESG Manager David Mikeladze introduced the attending audience with the Bakhvi 1 HPP Project and the stages of its development. The meeting later proceeded in a Q&A mode.
"Through the EU supported project, CENN formed a very interesting group in the region, members of which are representatives of both local authorities and nongovernmental and community based organizations. It is important that this group includes the members of the youth, educational, business, and agricultural organizations. For both the region and us, this is a significant platform, and that's why today we have had a meeting and introduced the group members with the project and its details. Also, we have heeded all the questions and ideas that have been voiced. The meetings with stakeholders is a very important component of our agenda as this format allows us to receive feedback and, on our part, respond transparently by sharing information," said CCEH Hydro VI Company Director Mikheil Nibladze.
CCEH Hydro VI is a company implementing the small hydropower plant Bakhvi 1 HPP Project. The project is currently at the Environmental Impact Assessment stage. The capacity of the planned HPP will be 12 MW with annual generation of 50 million kWh.
